David Burke’s Primehouse

David Burke's Primehouse

When I visited Chicago, I was told I had to make a visit to David Burke’s Primehouse. It is located in The James Chicago Hotel on the corner of Rush and Ontario, which actually was just around the corner from where I was staying. It’s known for their modern American cuisine which of course are their steaks.

The place offered quite a lovely atmosphere – relaxing yet contemporary. The dimmed lighting at the table made it a little hard to see what I was eating, but it sure did create the mood. The place was packed on a Saturday night and so it was difficult to hold a long conversation but was sure a great humbling excuse to sit quiet and chow down some great food.

Overall, it was a great dining experience. Unique too. I loved the way that they would toss up your salad at your table, the creative menu items such as the lollipop cheesecake tree which was probably the most memorable menu item of the night! Mmmm. The food was definitely expensive, but for a special treat to myself I’d like to go back :)
